Obituary for Sarah Lee

SARAH B. LEE “Together Again” YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the First Calvary Baptist Church, 126 E. Wood St., for Mrs. Sarah B. Lee who departed this life Oct. 30. Mrs. Lee was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Lexington, N.C., a daughter of John and Edna Lopp Hayden. She had been a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and had been employed as a salad chef for Squaw Creek Country Club for many years, retiring in 1973. She also did private catering. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Donald (Kathryn) Lee and Bruce (Catherine) Smith of Youngstown; a daughter, Betty Lee of Buffalo, N.Y.; three sisters, Nancy Byrd of California, Marie Rupert of Youngstown and Ruby Silva of Girard; two brothers, John W. Hayden of Campbell and Tyrone Hayden of Struthers; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Elliot, whom she married March 4, 1949, who passed away Jan. 2, 2000, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Jones and Kay Francis Mann; and a brother, Bruce Hayden. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the L.E. Black, Phillips and Holden Funeral Home.
