Obituary for Frank E Snyder

Frank E. Snyder 94 of Massillon passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at Affinity Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born in Michigan to the late Harold and Alice (Williams) Snyder on March 12, 1918. He was a graduate of Washington High School and attended Kent State University. He was a member of the Touch Down Club, Massillon Booster Club and the Hall of Fame. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. While in the Army he was a prisoner of war for two and a half years, He served as an Honor Guard to General Allmond. He was also involved in the Inchon Invasion in Korea. He is survived by his wife, Doris May (Schultz) Snyder, whom he married on Feb. 25, 1946; a son, James E. Snyder of Frankington, N.C.; two granddaughters, Julie (Joey) Figurella, Jennifer (Shawn) Hauck; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Luke Figurella, Carter Hauck; a sister, Helen Jenkins of Rocky River; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Street. A memorial service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at 1 p.m
