Obituary for Clara M Chance
CLARA M. CHANCE
GIRARD – Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at St. Rose Church, Girard, for Clara M. Chance, 94, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at the Humility House in Austintown.
Clara was born July 16, 1918, in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter J. and Clara O. (Hessler) Green.
Coming with her family to Youngstown in 1924, Clara graduated from Girard High School and worked briefly in the secretarial field. Upon the birth of her children, she became a full-time housewife.
Clara is survived by a sister, Ida J. Esposito of Shelby Township, Mich.; two sons, Joseph (Marion) Chance of Austintown and Nicholas Chance of Girard; six grandchildren, Barbara (Paul) Welch, Joseph Chance, Dieter Chance, Dean (Colleen) Chance, Kurt (Kim) Chance, and Keith Chance; and two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Jenna Chance. She also leaves a multitude of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.
Her husband, Nicholas, whom she married June 14, 1941, passed away Jan. 19, 1979.
Besides her parents and husband, Clara was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Chance; and her brothers and sisters, Dorothy M. Magill, Robert J. Green, Matthias E. Green, Margaret Green, Joseph T. Green, and Mary C. Green.
Those wishing to visit may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the McClurkin Funeral Home, Girard.
Burial will be at Green Haven Cemetery in Canfield.
