Obituary for Clara McCaughtry
CLARA MCCAUGHTRY
GIRARD – Clara McCaughtry, 87, passed away at Meridian Arms Care Center Tuesday evening.
Clara was born Aug. 17, 1925, the daughter of Pasquale and Mary (Pachella) Colonna.
Clara worked at Oldberg Mfg., She enjoyed watching baseball and football and was a big Barry Manilow fan.
Clara married Herbert V. McCaughtry on March 28, 1958. Herbert passed away Feb. 22, 2000.
Clara is survived by her brother, Joseph Colonna of Austintown, and sister, Teny Phillips of Nebraska. She leaves several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Henry Steiner.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tony, Phillip, and Frank Colonna and four sisters, Rose Fusco, Carmel Colonna, Mary Ferraro, and Jennie Trebella.
Her family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 30, 2012, at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at the McClurkin Funeral Home.
Clara’s family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Meridian Arms for their care and compassion over the years.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley in her name.
