Obituary for Elizabeth DeSenti Ansonoff

Elizabeth (Bette) Ansonoff of Palm Springs, CA, a former long time resident of Ansonia, CT passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 23, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Ansonoff and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lavinnia DeSenti. She was also predeceased by three brothers: James, Samuel and Louis DeSenti and two sisters: Rita Borzenski and Madelyn Marinuzzi. Bette was a Hillhouse High School graduate who started her career with the First National Stores, and then went on to Cooley Chevrolet in New Haven. Shortly after that, Bette began a long career with the Connecticut Labor Department as a clerical worker where she became chief steward for the AFSCM Union. Her hard work was recognized by her peers and managers, and was promoted to Supervisor of the fact finding unit within the Unemployment office. She gave of her time as a Communicant at the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for over 40 years where she served as president of the Home-School, conducted confirmation classes, bereavement classes, and served as a Eucharistic Minister in church and in the community. She was a volunteer at St Raphael's hospital as well. Bette is survived by her two sons; Dr. Michael Ansonoff (Shifra) of Fairlawn New Jersey, and David Ansonoff of Carlsbad California (Lisa) and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Maximillian, Sidney, Abraham, Faye Elizabeth, Zoe and Jack. She is also survived by three brothers, Fred DeSenti (Phyllis) of Florida, Thomas DeSenti of West Haven Connecticut and Lawrence DeSenti of New Haven Connecticut as well as her sister Lavinnia Teodosio (Anthony) of Naugatuck Connecticut. Bette is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors and all of the lives she's touched during her life. Much appreciation and gratitude to Harold Piascik for the many hours of loving care and devotion during her illness. While Bette will be missed by all whom she has touched throughout her life, a little piece of her will continue to carry on through her family and friends. Family and friends may call at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia on Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. (.jenkinskingfh.com) Funeral services will be held on Friday, 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
