Obituary for Harold R. Gabriel

Harold R. Gabriel (1933-2012) Services for Harold R. Gabriel, 79, of Wickliffe, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at The Community of the Holy Spirit Church, 36600 Stevens Blvd., Willoughby. Mr. Gabriel passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at UHHS Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights. Born July 10, 1933, in Cleveland, he was a longtime Wickliffe resident. He was a United States Army Airborne Infantry veteran. He was an avid antique car collector and enjoyed going to car shows. He also enjoyed bowling and was a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Browns. Mr. Gabriel founded the former Euclid Body and Fender Company in Willoughby in 1957, and was a longtime Willoughby area businessman. Survivors are his wife of 24 years, Elizabeth S. (Fedor) Gabriel; children, Phillip (Gail), David (Stacey) and Kelly, all of Wickliffe; grandchildren, P.J. (Amy), Adam, Perry, Marissa Gabriel-Vince, Morgan and Ava; stepgrandsons, Brendan, Ryan and Ronnie Kobus; stepgreat-grandson, Alex Kobus; brother, Ronald (Marty) Gabriel of Madison; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Kobus of Painesville; brother-in-law, John (Annette) Fedor, of Highland Heights; sisters-in-law, Marge Gabriel of Chester Township, Evelyn (Sigmond) Kobus of Mentor and Sally (Paul) Koches of Mayfield Heights; cousin, Joan Parker of Cleveland, several nieces and nephews and their families; and his best friend, Chupie. His parents, Frank and Elouise (Burkholder) Gabriel; brother, Frank Gabriel; and stepson, Bob Kobus, are deceased. The Rev. Chris Fisher of The Community of the Holy Spirit Church will officiate at the service. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township immediately following the service.
