Obituary for Joseph Mackowski
Joseph Mackowski, age 72, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, August 13, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 51 years to Barbara Puterski Mackowski. Mr. Mackowski was born in Derby on April 5, 1940, son of the late Alfred and Regina Simonu Mackowski. He was a lifelong Shelton resident and also resided in Jensen Beach in FL for 13 years. Mr. Mackowski was the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford until his retirement. He was a member of the Stuart-Jensen Elks Lodge 1870. Mr. Mackowski was a former President of the Moon River Homeowners Association. He is the loving father of Joseph Mackowski, Jr, Donna Hafele and her husband, Douglas and Linda Forgione and her husband, John, brother of Alfred and Donald Mackowski and Regina Shastokas. Mr. Mackowski is the loving grandfather of Nicholas and Justin Hafele, Michael and Tyler Forgione and Rachel Mackowski and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
