Obituary for Freddy L Griffin

FREDDY LEE GRIFFIN STRUTHERS – Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Campbell for Mr. Freddy Lee Griffin, 78, who departed this life on Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Mr. Griffin was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Millen, Ga., a son of Oscar and Carrie Harris Griffin. He had been employed with General Motors Lordstown, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and the Yo Go Golf Club and a former member of Rising Sun Lodge No. 90, Bezaleel Consistory No. 15 in Cleveland and Al-Asir Temple No. 210. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and especially golf. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his beloved wife, the former Eunice Murray, whom he married Oct. 1, 1964; a son, Michael (Dedera) Griffin of Youngstown; a sister, Thelma (Kerby) Wright of Danville, Va.; brother, Lynwood Griffin of Philadelphia; one niece; one nephew; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Colby Griffin; a sister-in-law, Bessie Griffin; and a nephew. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
