Obituary for Eleanor McNabb

Eleanor E. (Hake) McNabb, 73, of Eastlake, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby following a short battle with cancer. Mrs. McNabb was born May 8, 1939, in Cleveland, the daughter of Wilmer C. and Muriel L. (Beech) Hake. She worked at Boise Cascade (later the Mail Well Envelope Company) for 49 years. Eleanor married Thomas W. McNabb, her husband of 44 years, on April 22, 1958. She was a longtime member of the Western Reserve Chapter 71, Order of the Eastern Star, the Eastlake Kiwanis Club, the Lake County Yacht Club, and she was a former Girl Scout leader for Troop 1947. She liked doing charity work for various local organizations and she enjoyed shopping, but the times she loved the most were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her children, Danny W. (Tuya), Tammie (Jim) Mitri and Brigitte (Gary Jr.) Marts; grandchildren, Danny T. (Kristin), Donny W. (Kristin), Daniel "D.J." Green Jr., Mason Mitri, Gary Marts III, and Thomas Marts; great-grandchildren, Derrick, Jayden and "Dozer"; sister, Norma Beck; niece, Sharon Goodwill; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (who passed away June 8, 2004); parents; sister, Arlene Goodwill; son-in-law, Daniel Green Sr., and dog, "Tito." Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, Burial will follow in Western Reserve Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
