Obituary for Sr. Albert Kenneth Hannum

A. Kenneth Hannum (1919-2012) Graveside services and interment for A. Kenneth Hannum, 93, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Willowick, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Mr. Hannum went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at his home in Sebring. Born April 22, 1919, in Salem, Va., he was a longtime Willowick resident and retired to Sebring in 1983. He was a past elder and board chairman at Erieside Church on the Boulevard in Willowick and past trustee and board chairman of Stony Glen Camp in Madison. After moving to Florida, he became active in Grace Church in Sebring, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Hannum served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and authored a book titled ""Snapshots of Truth."" Additionally, he was a registered professional engineer, served as past chairman of the Christian business men's committee in downtown Cleveland, was a life member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and a member of the Cleveland Engineering Society (CES). He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). Mr. Hannum was employed by the former TRW Corporation as the vice president of Engineering in the Automotive Aftermarket Division. Survivors are his wife, Marie Hannum of Sebring; son, Dr. Charles Hugh (Terri) Hannum of Sunnyvale, Calif.; grandchildren, Tyler and Ellie Hannum, both of Sunnyvale, Calif.; stepchildren, Christina (John) Argo of Phoenix, Ariz., David (Elise) Swartz of Clifton, N.J., and Michael Swartz of Atlanta, Ga.; stepgrandchildren, Erin McClanahan of Sunnyvale, Calif., Graydon and Isabella Swartz, both of Clifton, N.J., and Knox and Justus Argo, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; and brother, Charles Hannum of Chardon, Neb. His first wife, Pauline Hannum, passed away in 2001, after 57 years of marriage. His son, Ken McGarvey Hannum; and parents, Charles Hugh and Mary Ella (Veit) Hannum, are also deceased. Funeral services were held Friday, June 22, 2012, at Grace Church of Sebring.
