Obituary for William K. Dimas

William “Vasili” K. Dimas, age 81, born Vasilios Dimopoulos, husband of 52 years to Denise Dimas and resident of Seymour, entered into eternal rest June 4 at Yale N.H. Hospital. He was born in Agios Nikolaos, Greece on January 1, 1931, son of the late Kostantinos & Angeliki Dimopoulos. He came to the United States in 1948 at the age of 17. He worked as a chef and was formerly the owner of the Riviera Diner in North Plainfield in New Jersey and the Texas Lunch luncheonette in Bridgeport. He also worked for Carousel Gardens Restaurant in Seymour until retiring at age 78. Vasili was a member and past president of The Fraternal Order of A.H.E.P.A. of St. George’s Church in New Brunswick, N.J. In addition to his loving wife, he leaves to cherish his memory three children, Dino Dimas & his wife Lisa of Seymour, Liberty D. Page & her husband Richard of Guilford & William Dimas & his wife Teresa of Shelton. He is also survived by six grandchildren Kassandra, Amanda & Samantha Dimas, Alexander & Ellen Page, Kayleigh Dimas, three sisters, Maria Karavias of Melbourne, Australia, Katherine Alexopoulos of Green Brook, N.J. & Panagiota Andrikopoulos of Athens, Greece and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m., with friends asked to go directly to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Orange. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. Friends may call on Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
