CATHERINE L. EICHORN NEW SPRINGFIELD – Catherine L. Eichorn, 93, of 12899 Unity Road, fell asleep in death Monday afternoon, May 21, 2012. Catherine was born in Motherwell, Scotland on June 25, 1918, to James and Margaret Fauls Marshall. She came from Scotland with her family when she was five years old. Catherine graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1936. She would meet her husband, the late Byron F. Eichorn Sr. of Youngstown, and they would marry and settle in the North Lima/New Springfield area for the remainder of their lives, where they reared eight children. In the early 1950s, Catherine began to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, dedicating her life to her Creator on April 11, 1959. After her husband died in 1986, Catherine learned to drive. This enabled her to work as a volunteer minister, helping others to know the Bible better, as well as visiting and assisting her family, the elderly, and others. Catherine also had the hope of living forever in God’s righteous new world on earth, looking forward to the resurrection of her two infant sons, family, and friends that she deeply loved. Catherine is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Byron (Billie) Eichorn Jr. of Columbiana, Kenneth (Anna) Eichorn of Casa Grande Ariz., Neal (Nawal) Eichorn of New Springfield, and Dennis (Jolene) Eichorn of Little Canada, Minn. and two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda (Brian) Goff of Absarokee, Mont., and Janice (Judson) Keltz of Goodyear, Ariz. Catherine is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Rohm of South Heights, Pa., Margaret Leipply of New Middletown, and Helen (John) Dilling of New Waterford; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Fran) Marshall of South Heights, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Byron F. Eichorn Sr.; two infant sons, Jay and Scott; her parents, James and Margaret Marshall; her brothers, James, Andrew, and William Marshall; and her sister, Agnes Wilson. Services will be held at the New Springfield Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 13323 Springfield Road, New Springfield, OH 44443 at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be no public viewing or graveyard services. Please, no flowers. Instead, memorial contributions can be made to the New Springfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Arrangements were entrusted to the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine.
