Obituary for David A Rich

DAVID ANTHONY RICH AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for David Anthony Rich, 74, who passed away Saturday morning at his home. David was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Niles, a son of the late Armond and Martha (La Polla) Rich. A graduate of Niles McKinley High School, David served in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a member of the Ohltown United Methodist Church, he was treasurer and served on the financial committee. He worked as a machinist for Wean United for 15 years and, retired in 2007 from RL Best Co. after 20 years of service. David was very active as a member of the Niles McKinley Masonic Lodge No. 794, serving as Master, Niles York Rite Chapter No. 223 Past District Deputy Grand High Priest, Niles Council No. 130, Niles Commandery No. 79, Warren Commandery No. 39, Past Division Commander – 9th Division, Illustrious 33rd Degree Mason - Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite – Valley of Youngstown, Eastern Star – Sunrise Chapter No. 458 and the International Order of Jobs Daughters. David served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District, Knight York Cross of Honor, and Ohio Priory No. 18. David will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Commilla Mae Hern, whom he married Aug. 1, 1976; 12 children, David (Gloria) Rich of Horse Heads, N.Y., Michael Rich of Centreville, Md., Martha (Randy) Ankrom of Geneva, Richard R. (Karen) Rich of North Jackson, Alisa (James) Pearson of Chesapeake, Va., John (Melinda) Rich of Monroe, N.C., Frank (Angel) Rich of Stanley, N.C., Richard Leroy Rich of Austintown, Sandi Rich of Austintown, Robin (Robert) Baldwin of Austintown, Mike Waldern of Austintown, and Christine (Steven) Sigley of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Doreen Magazine of Barberton; 32 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Zell; and a sister, Naomi Smith.
