Obituary for Rilla D. Jokela
Rilla D. Jokela (1928-2012) | Rilla D. Jokela, 83, Concord Township, formerly of Euclid, passed away April 17, 2012, at home.
She was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Oberlin.
Rilla was a 55-year member of Euclid Lutheran Church, having been involved in many of the women's groups. She volunteered for many years at the Euclid Hunger Center, Meals on Wheels, and the Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center. She was a lover of all animals, especially her loving cat ""Flori."" She was a true matriarch, who will be deeply missed and loved.
Mrs. Jokela worked as a registered nurse for Euclid Hospital for 19 years, retiring in 1988.
Survivors are her husband of 62 years, Bob Jokela; children, Robert ""Bud"" (Marj), of High Falls, N.C., David (Michelle) of Mentor, Gary (Sharon) of Westlake, Laurie (Paul) Pancoast of Columbia, Mo., and Robin (Craig) Stenger of Mentor; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeanne Meridith.
She was preceded in death by her sister, June Crandall; brother, Richard Dilgren; and grandson, Cary.
Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
