Obituary for Dolores Lucas

DOLORES LUCAS YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Dolores Lucas, 82, who died Sunday at her residence. Dolores was born July 3, 1929, in Youngstown, the daughter of Howard Palmer and Mary Everett Palmer and was a lifelong area resident. Dolores was employed as a school bus driver for Austintown Local Schools before her retirement. She was only the second female driver for Austintown schools. She had formerly been a member of the Austintown Community Church. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School, enjoyed reading, crocheting and was an avid camper and fisherman with her late husband, Ken. She will be sadly missed by her son, Ken (Sally) Lucas of Austintown and daughter, Karen (Paul) Forestal of Tallmadge. Dolores will also be missed by grandchildren, Robyn Danchise, Mathew Forestal, Amanda Nelson, Ken Lucas and Emily Lucas and great-grandchildren, Kayla Forestal, Mathew Forestal, Anthony Pondillo, Nicolas Danchise, Joshua Danchise, Andrew Danchise and Bradyn Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Lucas, whom she married June 11, 1949, and who died April 16, 1992; daughter, Deborah Bates; and brothers, Jere and William Palmer.
