Obituary for Irene Drnek

Irene F. (Germ) Drnek (1940-2012) | Irene F. (Germ) Drnek, 71, of Painesville Township, passed away April 5, 2012, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township. Born Oct. 1, 1940, in Cleveland, she had lived in Willoughby Hills for 30 years before moving to Painesville Township 10 years ago. Irene had worked as a bank manager at Independent Savings Bank in Willoughby Hills. Irene Germ married William Drnek on April 23, 1960, in Willoughby. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles and traveling with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family. Survivors are her husband, William Drnek of Painesville Township; daughters, Nancy (Rob) Johnston of Chardon and Tracy (Blake) Burns of Denver, Colo.; son, Kenneth (Julie) Drnek of Mentor; 12 grandchildren, Blake, Chad, Hope, Jill, Brooke, Grant, Donovan, Holly, Preston, Ashlyn, Alyssa, and Braden; sister, Carolyn Perkins of Ft. Myers, Fla.; brother, Raymond Germ of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Irene (nee, Lohrey) Germ. Funeral services will be noon Saturday, April 7, 2012, Kathy DicKriede of Mentor United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
