Obituary for Olga Zacharchuk Horoschak

Olga Z. Horoschak, age 87 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Walter A. Horoschak, died March 23, 2012, at Griffin Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Boston, MA on October 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Mary Smarsh Zacharchuk. Originally from Cambridge,MA, Mrs. Horoschak moved to Ansonia in 1962 and became an active member of Three Saints Orthodox Church as a choir member, serving as president of the choir and as a past treasurer of the church. She was the office manager for the Valley Surgical Group for 20 years, until her retirement in 1980. Mrs. Horoschak moved to Seymour 15 years ago and became active in the Derby and Woodbridge Senior Centers. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and sharing special moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Sandra Gillen and her husband, William of Seymour, Lynda Korotash and her husband, Atty. Mark Korotash of Newtown, and Nancy Neill and her husband, Doug of Elko, NV; cherished grandchildren, Jenifer Manzo and her husband, Radley of Oxford, Kristen Luzzi and her husband Jeff of Milford, Lindsey Korotash and her fiancé, Matthew Roth of Buffalo, NY, Greg Korotash and his wife Katie of New Milford and Andrew Neill of Elko, NV; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Sydney, and Hannah Manzo; Jack and Ryan Luzzi; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Z. Kleinschmidt. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM in Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Monday, March 26, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Panikhida at 6:00 PM.
