Obituary for Wayne S. Sanders

Wayne S. Sanders (1925-2012) | Services for Wayne Stanley Sanders, 86, of Eastlake, will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Willoughby Baptist Church, 37928 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Mr. Sanders passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 7, 1925, in Pelham, Tenn., he had lived in Eastlake for the past 34 years. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran, a member of the former Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Euclid and attended Willoughby Baptist Church. He enjoyed carpentry and bowling. Mr. Sanders was employed with the former Cleveland Graphite Bronze Corporation for 38 years, where he served as union chairman and steward. Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Margaret Anna Dell (Nunley) Sanders; children, Dewain Sanders of Eastlake, Donna (Finley) Gambrel of Thompson Township, Regina (Michael) Christy of Macedonia and Gregory (Cathy) Sanders of Willoughby; grandchildren, Larry (Stephanie) Wheeler, Karen (Thomas) Grzep, Jessica (Robert) States, Finley James (Misty) Gambrel, Alison (William) Grant and Daniel Gambrel; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Coppinger of Tracy City, Tenn. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. His parents, Jay Herbert and Veda Mae (Burrows) Sanders; and brothers, Clayton Paul, H.D., Ray Herbert, are deceased. . The Rev. Drew Dukes of Willoughby Baptist Church will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
