Obituary for Lester C. Stonebraker

Obituary Lester C. Stonebraker (1931-2012) | Services for Lester C. Stonebraker, 80, of Eastlake, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at Erieside Church on the Boulevard, 221 E. 320th St., Willowick. Graveside service and interment will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. The Rev. Larry A. Pozza will officiate at the services. Mr. Stonebraker passed away Monday, March 5, 2012. Born May 21, 1931, in Altoona, Pa., he lived in Wickliffe for 41 years before moving to Eastlake in 2005. He served 13 years in the United States Naval Reserve, where he taught radio and code. He was a member of Erieside Church on the Boulevard in Willowick and enjoyed music, riding his bicycle and camping at Holiday Camplands in Andover. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2300 in Willoughby. Mr. Stonebraker was employed as a pipefitter with the former New York Central Railroad at the Collinwood Yards for 18 years and later at the former Chrysler Corporation Twinsburg stamping plant for 19 years. He retired in 1993. He is survived by loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Joyce (Poet) Stonebraker; daughters, Cindy (Bruce) MacDonald of Summerville, S.C., and Ruth (Tony) Fortuna of Eastlake; grandchildren, Ryan and Kevin MacDonald and Emily and Natalie Fortuna; brother, Bill (Barbara) Stonebraker of Altoona, Pa.; niece, Laurie Trexler; and nephew, Bill Stonebraker and their families. His parents, Lester and Sidney (Mickel) Stonebraker, are deceased. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Erieside Church on the Boulevard.
