Obituary for Joanne C Moran

JOANNE C. MORANE “Together Again” BOARDMAN – Joanne C. Moran, 76, died Monday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Joanne was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Ruth Hogue Slaven. A 1953 graduate and Valedictorian of Lowellville High School, Joanne was employed as a bookkeeper for numerous businesses in the area including Automatic Sprinkler, Meek and Thomas and Mahoning Valley Associations of Churches, where she retired after many years. A member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church, Joanne was an avid reader, loved solving crossword puzzles, playing cards and bowling. She loved country music, especially Tim McGraw, and watching Dancing with the Stars. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved visiting and sharing stories with them, hosting home cooked dinners at her home, competing with her son, Eric in solving crossword puzzles and sharing her talent of solving puzzles with her grandson, Mark. She will be greatly missed, but her family is at peace that she is together again with her soul mate, her loving husband, Joseph. Her husband, Joseph V. Moran Jr., whom she married Aug. 20, 1955, died Aug. 9, 2007. She leaves her daughter, April (Brian) Moran Patterson of Boardman; two sons, Eric Moran of Boardman and Mark (Kim) Moran of North Lima; and one grandson, Mark Planey Jr. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Interment will follow at the Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
