Elizabeth M. 'Betty' Farrar
88 of Massillon, died on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at Bethany Nursing Home in Canton. She was born on April 7, 1923 in Wooster, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Harold and Bertha (Radtka) Swartz. Betty was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was active in many areas of service to the church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer E. Farrar in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Jerry Swartz and her sister Muriel Schroeter.
Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Deborah and Thomas Schmolt, Daniel and Lynette Farrar and David and Kay Farrar, her grandchildren, Brent, Tracie, Jason (Jennifer) and Ashley, her great grandchildren, Trenton, Calvin and Cullen, her brother, Harold (Leta) Swartz and her sister Carol (Charles) Cook.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold- Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Brigham officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
