Obituary for Carrie Margaret Kreiger

Carrie Margaret Kreiger Age 98, of North Lawrence passed away Feb. 15, 2012. Carrie was born Feb. 20, 1913, in East Greenville to the late Frederic and Angela (Mertes) Harig. A lifelong resident of East Greenville, Carrie was known for her love of life and gregarious personality. She touched everyone around her with her sense of humor and quick wit. Giving back was important to Carrie and she devoted years of her life volunteering with the Tuslaw Band and later with Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was featured in numerous newspaper articles for her volunteer work and her motto was "keep moving!" This she did and at the young age of 95 she purchased a new car. Her family was everything to her, and she was undoubtedly the family historian, lovingly keeping track of the family tree. Not only could she remember details of family members' lives, she had the stories to match. These will be forever treasured. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kreiger (1989); a sister, Kathryn Glutting; and a brother, Edmund Harig. Carrie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Deborah Kreiger of Orlando, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Allison Kreiger Walsh; and great-granddaughter, Madison Lee Walsh of Windermere, Fla. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Harry and Mary Lou Merryman will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
