Obituary for Charles Sr. Cronenwett
CHARLES J. CRONENWETT SR
NEW MIDDLETOWN – Private services were held yesterday at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Charles J. Cronenwett Sr., 84, formerly a resident of Poland, who died at Masternick Memorial Nursing Home on Saturday.
Charles was born April 26, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of Charles and Ida Kunsch Cronenwett.
He graduated from Wilson High School in 1946. He was a Corporal in the Army during World War II, and worked at Ohio Bell, later AT&T, for 45 years, retiring in 1990.
He married Dolores Marie Ferko on June 26, 1954.
He achieved his pilot’s license and was an avid Ham Radio Operator.
Charles is survived by two sons, Charles J. Cronenwett Jr. of New Middletown and Ronald Cronenwett of Columbia, Md.; one daughter, Michele (Don) Devlin of New Springfield; two grandsons, Andrew (Nichole) Darr of El Paso, Texas and Anthony Devlin of North Lima; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Blake Darr of El Paso, Texas.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dolores, who died Oct. 7, 2009; and his daughter-in-law, Ilana Cronenwett.
