Obituary for Rev. Elaine F Dutton Dutton

REV. ELAINE FRANCES DUTTON BOARDMAN – A service celebrating the life of Rev. Elaine Frances Dutton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Poland Presbyterian Church. Elaine died in an automobile accident in Carroll County Tuesday evening. Elaine was born Oct. 11, 1980, in Youngstown, the daughter of Bradley and Rev. Bonnie (Turnovsky) Dutton. Elaine graduated from Boardman High School in 1999, where she had been in the band as a flute player, ran cross country and track, winning the Spirit Award all four years of high school, and was president of the Latin Club. After graduation, she attended The Ohio State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Classics, specializing in Latin and Greek. She was also a Girl Scout in Troop 699, earning her Silver Award and was top cookie seller for two years. In 2007, Elaine graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. She was currently Pastor of Harrisburg Presbyterian Church and member of Muskingum Valley Presbytery. She was also employed for many years at JoAnn Fabrics in Boardman. Elaine’s call to ministry was nurtured by the members of the Poland Presbyterian Church. Her joyful spirit will be missed by her parents; grandmother Doris Turnovsky; uncles Terence, Gordon (JoAnn) Turnovsky, Gary (Sylvia) and Mark Dutton; many friends and co-workers; and faithful cat, Annabelle. Elaine was an avid OSU fan, attending the 2002 Championship game in Tempe, Ariz., faithful Bengals fan and Scrappers supporter. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Otto Turnovsky and grandparents Jay and Shirley Dutton. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Lane Funeral Home, Anstrom Velker Chapel, 75 East Midlothian Blvd. in Youngstown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the services at the church. The Dutton family request that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Angels for Animals.
