Obituary for Liberty Robinson

LIBERTY BELL ROBINSON YOUNGSTOWN – Mrs. Liberty Bell Robinson, 93, transitioned into eternal rest on Friday morning, Jan. 6, 2012, at the Valley Renaissance Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Coketon, W.Va., a daughter of Henry and Mona Asbury Green. Liberty married Thornton Robinson Sr. on Jan. 17, 1948, moving to Youngstown in 1950. She was a loving wife, the greatest mother and a dedicated homemaker to her family. Her specialty was baking homemade bread and bran muffins and being grandma to all who met her. Liberty was also a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She leaves always to cherish her precious memory, three sons, Charles Green, James Robinson and Thornton Robinson Jr., all of Youngstown; three daughters, Mrs. Mona Phelps of Las Vegas, Mrs. Rita Morris of Belleville, Mich. and Charlene Robinson of Peapack, N.J.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Betty Scott of Pittsburgh; nephews Peter Barmer of Manassas, Va. and Henry Green of Youngstown; and a host other family and friends. She was preceded in death her parents; husband, Thornton; three sisters; and a grandson, James “Skip” Robinson. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow immediately at 10 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to the L.E.
