Obituary for George Delvaille

George Anthony Delvaille, 71, a former Ansonia resident currently of Middletown, passed away to be with the lord Nov. 28. He was born July 8, 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Charles & Vera Woods Delvaille. In 1965 he married his wife Diane Narcisse and moved to Ansonia, CT. He worked for B.F. Goodrich and moved on to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft where he worked as a dedicated machinist for 25 years. George was an avid athlete, enjoying baseball, basketball, bowling & golf. He collected a plethora of trophies throughout his life. In addition to his wife Diane, George leaves to cherish his memory his 3 daughters, Charlotte Delvaille Smith, Michell Delvaille & Erica Zauner, 4 siblings, Joyce Slaughter of Fayetteville, N.C., Charles Delvaille II of Ansonia, Vera Delvaille Williams of New Orleans, LA., and Geraldine Soublet of Seymour, 2 grandsons, Ryan & Jack Zauner and a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & close friends. George was a gregarious & vibrant soul who inspired all who knew him to dance, laugh, sing and enjoy every day of their lives. George has not left us. He will live in our hearts forever. George’s words of wisdom were: “Fear God, not man.” A celebration of life and home going services will be held on Monday, 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call on Sunday, 2 to 4:00 p.m. The family would like to give acknowledgement to the Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown for the 5 years of excellent care, and to give thanks to all for their acts of kindness & sympathy.
