Obituary for Ronald Helsel

YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ronald Edward Helsel, 70, who passed away Sunday at his home.

“Ron” was born June 14, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of Clayton and Dorothy (Avery) Helsel.

He attended Austintown Fitch High School and retired from Commercial Intertech in 2002. Ron was a member of the New Life Assembly. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the outdoors, camping and going to the lake.

Ron loved spending time with his family and friends, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, who lovingly called him “Dado.”

Ron leaves his wife, the former Judy Danko, whom he married June 20, 1964. He also leaves his daughter, Rhonda Kish and her husband, Michael of Austintown; one granddaughter, Madison Kish; and one brother, Robert Helsel and his wife, Linda of Boardman.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and several uncles and aunts.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
