Obituary for Claude Perry

Claude L. Perry Sr., a 68 year old Ansonia resident and husband to Virginia Martin Perry, entered into eternal rest September 19. He was born October 6, 1942 in Mt. Dora, Florida, son of the late Charlie and Mattie Perry. Claude was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army and graduated from Florida A & M University with a Bachelor's degree. He worked as Economic Development Director, Personnel Director and Fair Housing Officer for the City of Ansonia. Claude was a member of the Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church in Ansonia. He is survived by his six sons, Howard Washington of Florida, Harrison Washington of Ansonia, Andrew Washington of Waterbury, Timothy Washington of New Haven, Claude Perry Jr. of Cheshire and Clayton Perry of New Haven, two daughters, Janice Denby of Derby and Monica Parks of Ansonia, four brothers, Charles Perry Jr. of New Haven and Robert, James and Jessie Lee Perry, all of Florida, two sisters, Rosetta Williams and Maggie Del of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous grandchildren. Claude was predeceased by two sons, Frederick and Jerome Washington. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. from Williams Temple Church of God in Christ, Bishop Williams Ansonia. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at church on Friday, 9 to 11 a.m. before the service.
