Obituary for Ruth Shuchmann Hessler
Ruth Schuchmann Hessler, age 77, a former Woodbridge resident and widow of Raymond G. Hessler, currently of Salem, Oregon, entered into eternal rest Sept. 15. She was born July 13, 1934 in Derby, Ct., the daughter of the late William & Elsie Stettbacher Schuchmann. She graduated from the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing, with her lifelong friend Joan Petruzzello and was a former co-owner of East Side Greenhouses in Ansonia until retirement. She was a former member of The First Congregational Church in Ansonia, and will be remembered by all for the pleasure she took in the company of her friends and family. She is survived by her brothers, John Schuchmann & wife Diane of Bethany, William Schuchmann & wife Jean of Ansonia and sister Barbara Petruzzello and husband Sebastian “Babe” of Ansonia. She resided with her daughter Sandy Hubbell & husband William of Salem, Oregon. She took great pride and joy in helping to raise her grandchildren Lindsay and Thomas Hubbell of Salem Oregon. She is also survived by her much loved nieces & nephews, John & Cynthia Petruzzello, Bill, Michael, David & John Schuchmann, Diane Nackley & Lisa Grabowski, who is also her goddaughter. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey W. Hessler and nephew & godson James W. Petruzzello. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.(www.jenkinskingfh.com) Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
