Obituary for Helen E Crichton

Helen E. Crichton “Together Again” AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Helen E. Crichton, 92, who died Sunday morning at Humility House. Helen was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Franklin, Pa., the daughter of Paul B. and Josephine (Rial) Wait. Helen and her husband, Thomas lived in Florida from 1980 until returning to the area in 1991. Helen was a member of the Wickliffe Christian Church, former member of the Calvary Baptist Church, active member of Tri Gamma Class of Calvary Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Monday Card Club and enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, sudoku, lottery tickets, sea shells and playing cards into her 90s. She retired in 1975 from St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she worked in medical records. She had formerly worked in medical records at Northside Hospital. Helen was a 1936 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Helen’s family was her main priority in life, she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughters, Carol (Thomas) Stellers and Gail (Ron) Sudol, with whom she made her home for 18 years, both of Austintown; sister, Beverly Carter; and brother Ted (Ethel) Wait. Helen also is survived by grandchildren, Brenda (Randy) Balog, Ron (Ann) Sudol and Mark (fiancée Angela DiAntonio) Sudol; great-grandchildren, RJ Balog, Korey Balog, Taylor Balog, Blake Sudol, Hope Sudol, Gavin Sudol and Dylan DiAntonio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas L. Crichton, whom she married Jan. 27, 1940, and who died Feb. 13, 1992; brothers, Paul, Howard, Richard and Simeone Wait; and sisters, Angeline Steele and Ruth Wait.
