Obituary for Eleanor Patoray

Eleanor M. Patoray AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Eleanor M. Patoray, 87, who passed away Saturday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Eleanor was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Michigan a daughter of the late George Lape and Martha Schaffer Lape Schrum. She had worked as regional manager for Foto Fair for 10 years. Eleanor was a member of the Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church, where she participated in bible studies, and the Friendly Circle Class. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was an excellent baker. Eleanor had a deep love for cardinals. Her husband, Steve Patoray, whom she married July 17, 1941, passed away in 1981. She is survived by three children, Sandy (Russ) Wentz of Austintown, Susie (Benny) Tidwell of Appling, Ga. and Stephen (Sonja) Patoray of Tryon, N.C.; three sisters, Betty Kansa of Youngstown, Naomi Morrow of Las Vegas and Gladys Gelatt of Endicott N.Y.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and was joyfully awaiting the birth of her twelfth great-grandchild. Besides her parents and husband, a brother, Robert Lape, preceded Eleanor in death. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to the Wedgewood Park Evangelical Church, 1944 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, OH 44511 in Eleanor’s name. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
