Obituary for Sally J Stamper

SALLY J. STAMPER AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Sally J. Stamper, 75, who passed away Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Sally was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Plymouth, Mich., a daughter of the late Henry E. and Irene (Taylor) Canning. Sally loved taking care of people and was an RN all of her life. She loved serving the Lord as a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Mineral Ridge. She played the organ and piano, and also played in the church choir. She was past president of the Local Nurses Association. Sally will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years, John Stamper, whom she married Dec. 15, 1956; three children, Debbie (John) DeMint of Kankakee, Ill., John E. Stamper of Austintown and Maria (Dan) Stamper-Dragojevich of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Nancy (Sherman) Thompson of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Mary (Dick) Roose-Meyer of Howell, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Kristin, Tiffany (Jon), Mark (Megan) and Kimberly (Greg). Besides her parents, Sally was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Kiger. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org in Sally’s name.
