Obituary for Michael Pizzoferrato

MICHAEL E. PIZZOFERRATO “Together Again” POLAND – Michael E. Pizzoferrato, 95, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. His stories were legendary and his laugh was contagious. He served his country honorably in World War II and continued serving his family and the community throughout his life. He was always willing to lend a hand and had a smile for everyone. He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gaetano Pizzoferrato and Maria Dominica Cassanta; beloved wife, Viola Dionisio Pizzoferrato; daughter Gerri Buttrey; and brothers and sisters, Joseph Pizzoferrato, Katherine Stabile, Connie Petrella, Rocky Petrella, and Cecelia Halicki. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Pizzoferrato; son Guy Pizzoferrato; granddaughter Lisa Boggs and husband Stephen Boggs; grandson Michael Buttrey; great-grandchildren, Brady, Ryan and Natalie Boggs; brothers and sisters, Phyliss Pagley, Jim Petrella and Yolanda Desantis; and many nieces and nephews. He was a retired life insurance agent with Metropolitan Life, where he received many awards for being top salesman of the month. He was a member of St. Luke’s Church, the Bugnarese Club and was a avid bowler and golfer. Family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fabrizio Funeral Home, 619 E. Indianola Ave. in Youngstown and Saturday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Services will follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Fabrizio Funeral Home.
