Obituary for Helen J Pollock

HELEN J. POLLOCK AUSTINTOWN – Helen J. Pollock, 78, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. Mrs. Pollock was born on Aug. 19, 1932, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Elchuck. She retired after working 18 years at Tel Star Restaurant in Cornersburg. Mrs. Pollock was married on Aug. 17, 1951, to George Gilbert Pollock Jr. and they were married for 57 years, until his passing on Feb. 17, 2009. Mrs. Pollock was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed taking care of her family. Mrs. Pollock is survived by seven children, Jim Pollock of Warren, Tom (Maureen) Pollock of San Leon, Texas, Bob Pollock of Youngstown, George (Brenda) Pollock of Lowellville, Edward Pollock of Austintown, Brian Kroll of Youngstown and Mary Lou Pollock of Austintown; and 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Ann (Frank) Bobovecz of Naples Fla., John (Betty) Elchuck of Struthers, Martha Thomas of Austintown, Dee Carmendy of Struthers and Michael (Judy) Elchuck of Struthers. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Pollock was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Kroll. Calling hours will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2011, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Msgr. Kenneth Miller.
