Obituary for Ruth Ann Spellman

Ruth Ann Spellman FT. MYERS, FLA. – Ruth Ann Spellman, 55, formerly of Youngstown, passed away at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at her sister’s residence in Ft. Myers. Ruth Ann was born Dec. 7, 1954, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Bowser) Simpson and moved to Ft. Myers 15 years ago. Mostly a homemaker, Ruth Ann worked as a cook at the Miami Connection in Florida for 15 years. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for her scalloped potatoes and ham. Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Spellman, whom she married in August of 2006; her children, Elizabeth (Scott) Riggle of Ft. Myers, Jamie Gaia of Ft. Myers and Johnnie (Nicole) Gaia of Youngstown; brothers and sisters, Cathy Parks of Ft. Myers, Dorothy Simpson of Youngstown, William (Carrie) Simpson of Youngstown and James (Carol) Simpson of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Kim, Keith, Maranda, Dezaray and TJ; and a special friend, John Wilson of Ft. Myers. Calling hours will take place Monday, March 1, 2010, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515. A funeral service will take place Monday, March 1, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
