Obituary for Patricia Hassan

PATRICIA BARBARA HASSAN YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., with Pastor Joel Theis officiating for Patricia Barbara Hassan, 73, who passed away early Friday morning, March 11, 2011, from an extended illness at the Hospice House. Patricia will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her generosity and strong faith in God. She was born Nov. 14, 1937, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Stanley Jr. and Agnes (Benkosky) Kosin, and moved to the Youngstown area in the 1960s. Patricia was a graduate of Shenango High School and a former member of the Highway Tabernacle Church. She was a homemaker and was very generous in supporting charities and had a deep passion for her church and animals. Patricia enjoyed cooking and gardening, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her husband, Edward B. Hassan, whom she married Nov. 6, 1961, died March 16, 1999. She leaves behind to hold on to her memories, her five children, Michael (Cathy) Wimer of Woodbridge, Va., David (Lisa) Hassan of Woodstock, Ga., Joseph (Wendy) Hassan of Grove City and Susan (Joseph) Rusu and Victoria (Joseph) Gragorace, both of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren, Steven, Michelle and Aaron Wimer, Zach, Jakob, Stephanie and Matthew Hassan, Ivan and Derek Rosado, Alissa Rusu and Monica Gragorace; four great-grandchildren, Preston, Paige, Derek and Kade; and a brother, Stanley III (Evelyn) Kosin of New Castle. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends may call on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 10:25 a.m., all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
