Obituary for Carrie L Hunter

Carrie L. Hunter “Together Again” YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel for Carrie L. Hunter, 83, who passed away Monday early morning at the Hospice House. Carrie was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Jack and Marie (Mincher) Hetherington. Carrie attended Boardman High School. She was a homemaker and attended the Salvation Army in Austintown. Her husband Merle L. Hunter, whom she married June 14, 1946, passed away Oct. 12, 2005. She leaves two daughters, Kathleen (Chuck) Knickerbocker of Pittsburgh and Marjorie L. Hunter of Austintown; a son, Robert M. (Lori) Hunter Sr. of Struthers; a sister, Beatrice Riebe of Austintown; two brothers, Jack Hetherington of Washington and James (Carol) Hetherington of Bethany, Okla.; grandchildren Susan Knickerbocker, Thomas (Sonya) Knickerbocker, David (Vanda) Knickerbocker, Deborah (James) Kisser, Karen (Ben) Pennington, Wayne King, Katrina Bennett, James Bennett and Bobby Hunter Jr., with whom she made her home and shared a special friendship; and 16 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Carrie was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnn Wolfgang and Mary Louise Reakes; and a grandson, Vance Bennett. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Material tributes may take the form of donations to M.R.D.D.
