Obituary for Helen Kritter

HELEN LOUISE KRITTER AUSTINTOWN – Helen Louise Kritter, 90, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at Clarebridge Cottage in Austintown. Mrs. Kritter was born on Sept. 4, 1920, in Massillon, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Guman) Rachel and moved to this area in 1945. Mrs. Kritter was a self-employed real estate broker for 40 years, retiring in 2000. During World War II, she worked for the U.S. Quartermaster Corps as an inspector. Mrs. Kritter was a member of St. Christine Church and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Kritter was married on July 21, 1945, to Robert B. Kritter Sr. and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1991. Mrs. Kritter is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. McSkimming of Austintown; seven grandchildren, April (Cary) Dabney, Susan Bryan, William Milano, Helen Melia, Ms. Rocca Ford, Shelley (Ed) Demsky and Robert (Heather) B. Kritter III; one adopted great-grandson, Andrew Milano; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kritter was preceded in death by two children, Charlene Melia and Robert B. Kritter Jr.; a grandson, Edgar Price; and 10 siblings. Calling hours for Mrs. Kritter will take place on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Msgr. David W. Rhodes on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511, preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to leaving for the church.
