Obituary for Ronald D Kuyat

Ronald D. Kuyat BERLIN CENTER – Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ronald D. Kuyat, 75, who died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center after a lengthy illness. He was born May 28, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of William and Anna (Worghul) Kuyat. He worked in maintenance for Simco Management in Girard for 23 years, before retiring in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, and he was known as the neighborhood handyman. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Patricia A. Coleman, whom he married Oct. 7, 1972. He also leaves behind four children, Linda (James) Devlin of Pittsburgh, Lauretta (James) Rapone of Champion, Ronald (Barbara) Kuyat Jr. of Eubank, Ky., and Daniel Kuyat of Raleigh, N.C.; three stepsons, Albert Ott of Myrtle Beach, Paul (Betsy) Ott of Miami, and Sean Ott, also of Miami; a brother, David (Pic) Kuyat of Philadelphia; a sister, Hope Flash of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Herbert Kuyat. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Ron’s memory.
