Obituary for Loretta Durig

LORETTA JANE DURIG “Together Again” NILES - Loretta Jane Durig, 80, of 730 Youngstown Road, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at 6:58 p.m. at Grace Woods Village Assisted Living. She was born in Garfield Heights Jan. 24, 1930, the daughter of James and Margretta (Poland) Williamson. She was a longtime Niles resident, and after retirement she lived in Andover, Ohio, Sebring, Fla., and Worthington, Ohio. Loretta was a member of St. Stephen Church, Niles, Our Lady of Victory Church, Andover and St Catherine Church, Florida. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed babysitting for many families. She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Janis) Durig of Niles and James Durig of Niles; daughter Theresa Ferrara of Columbus; five grandchildren, Jennifer Simmons, Renee White, Jamie Brown, Jill Durig and Stephen Durig; six great-grandchildren; sister LaVerne Marsch of Tennessee She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph V. Durig, whom she married Sept. 20, 1952, and who died June 29, 2009; an infant sister, Theresa Williamson; and two foster brothers, Louis Gavorsky and Gene Gavorsky. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Church with the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski as the celebrant. Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Stephen School Tuition Angel Fund.
