Obituary for Ernest F Neptune
ERNEST F. NEPTUNE
AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ernest F. Neptune, 89, who passed away Wednesday evening at his home.
Ernest was born Sept. 6, 1921, in Barnesville, a son of the late Ernest L. and Maud L. (Shaffer) Neptune.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, he retired in 1980 after 34 years of service as a crane man at US Steel, McDonald.
He was also an independent salesman for Knapp Shoes for 30 years.
He was a member of the Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, and Masonic Lodges: Friendship Lodge No. 89 and William Farr Lodge No. 672 in Girard. He earned 60 year pins for both lodges.
His wife, the former Virginia L. Hugli, whom he married June 26, 1948, passed away in 2005.
Ernest is survived by a daughter, Mary Brown of Canfield.
Beside his parents and wife, Ernest was preceded in death by an infant sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Ernest’s name.
