Obituary for James E Ogram

James Edward Ogram BOARDMAN – James Edward Ogram, 87, formerly of Poland, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Ron Joy Nursing Home. Mr. Ogram was born June 27, 1922, in Youngstown, a son of Jay and Florence McFetrich Ogram. He was a 1940 graduate of South High School and attended The Ohio State University receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Ogram worked as a Manager of Quality Control for Commercial Shearing Inc. in Youngstown and Butler, Ind. for 24 years, retiring in September of 1982. He was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church, the Quality Control Association, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed reading, particularly about cars and planes, and playing golf. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Ogram served during World War II and the Korean conflict as a naval pilot. He leaves his wife, the former Gloria S. Granito, whom he married Sept. 4, 1954; two daughters, Lynda (Robert) Youmans of Stanfordville, N.Y. and Cathy Ogram of Norfolk, Va.; and two grandsons, Jay and Drew Youmans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Melvin, Gordon, and Robert Ogram.
