Obituary for Robert D Parks

Robert D. Parks YOUNGSTOWN –Robert D. Parks, 65, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, in Columbus, from complications arising from open heart surgery. Bob was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Youngstown, the son of the late Robert G. and Helen (Warren) Parks. He was a graduate of The Rayen High School and previously worked as a gas attendant at Clark Gas Station in Youngstown. A man with a strong devotion to God, Bob enjoyed stamp collecting and loved animals. He is survived by three children, Shelly Wilson of Youngstown, Denise Patterson of Youngstown and Lisa (Bill) Sandy of Cape Coral, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Parks of Youngstown; many nieces and nephews; and by a host of friends. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Robert K. Parks. Calling hours will take place on Monday, May 24, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to help defray cost of the funeral services to the Robert D. Parks Memorial Fund c/o any Huntington Bank. >>
