Obituary for Richard A Cole

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Richard A. Cole, 59, who died Sunday evening in the emergency room at Southwest General Hospital in Brunswick. He was born May 5, 1950 in Youngstown, a son of Nathan and Sylvia (Hartman) Cole. He was a 1968 graduate of The Rayen School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam war. He was a member of River of Life Ministries in Boardman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Cheryl A. Patterson, whom he married November 10, 1972. He also leaves behind a son, Joseph (Janice) Cole of Berea; seven siblings; Donna (Joseph) Durkin of Bolotin, CA; Dottie Golec of Poland; Joann Presley of Columbus, MS; Rita Bowles of Riverside, CA; Donald (Shirley) Cole of Las Vegas, NV; Debbie Cole of Columbus, MS; and Ray Cole of North Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren; Gabriella, Austin, and Nathan Cole; a special uncle, William Cole of Austintown; a brother-in-law, Roy and niece (Brenda) Patterson of Struthers; a niece Melissa, and a nephew RJ. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Nathan and Jimmy Cole; and three sisters; Marie Winans, and Betty and Patty Cole, who died as infants.
