Obituary for Michael Breidenstein

Michael ''Mike'' J Breidenstein, 50 YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave. in Boardman, for Michael “Mike” J. Breidenstein, 50, who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning Jan. 2, 2010, at his residence with his loving family by his side after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Michael will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was born April 21, 1959, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of Richard and Barbara (Zilliox) Breidenstein, and moved to the Youngstown area in 1978. Michael was an innovative educator who found ways to teach both real world experiences and spirituality to his students. For the last 11 years, Michael taught computers at Youngstown Christian School along with owning and operating Advanced Applications and Banners 4 the Trade. He was a graduate of Orchid Park High School in New York, and earned his teaching certificate. Michael was a devoted member of Trinity Fellowship Church, and truly enjoyed working and spending time with his family and friends. He leaves behind to hold on to his memories his wife, the former Sandi Swedik, whom he married Feb. 14, 1987; two sons, Tim and Stephen, both at home; his mother, Barbara Breidenstein; a brother, Daniel Breidenstein; two sisters, Lisa (Jeff) Baggs of Toronto, Canada and Katie (Larry) LoPiccolo of Charlotte, N.C.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his father, Richard Breidenstein, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Breidenstein. Friends may call on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, from 10 to 10:50 a.m., all at the Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave. in Youngstown. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Michael’s name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
