Obituary for George R Beal

George Ronald Beal AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Austintown for George Ronald Beal, 78, who died Saturday at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Ill., after becoming ill while on vacation. George was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Fayette County, Pa., the son of George T. and Dorothy (Cunningham) Beal. George was a faithful member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and belonged to the Masters Men group. He retired from Conrail in 1987 after over 30 years, where he had been employed as a yard conductor. George served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Korean War Vets of Austintown. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved camping vacations with his family. George’s greatest love was being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Shaffer) Beal, whom he married June 28, 1953; children, Bruce (Donna) Beal of Austintown, Keith Beal of Franklin, Pa., Peggy (Ernest) Coffey of Austintown and Mark (Joyce) Beal of Garrettsville; 11 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
