Obituary for Phyllis M Gibson

Phyllis M. Gibson STRUTHERS – Services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. a Mass will be at St. Nicholas Church, both in Struthers, for Phyllis M. Gibson, 71, who died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Phyllis was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony and Dorothy Marshall Cavucci. She married John O. Gibson on Feb. 16, 1957. She worked as a cook at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic in Youngstown. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and the Wednesday Night Ladies Trio and Sunday Night Bowling Leagues, both at Westside Lanes. She also enjoyed playing cards and belonged to two clubs. She loved to cook especially for her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest, was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Phyllis leaves her sons, John O. (Kathleen) Gibson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Anthony (Heidi) Gibson of Willoughby; three daughters, Catherine (David) Zemkosky of New Middletown, Phyllis Gibson of Struthers and Michelle (William) Simcox of Struthers; one brother, Kenneth Cavucci of Florida; and a sister, Catherine Hamrock of Austintown; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, who died Dec. 24, 2007; and her brother, Mark “Sonny” Cavucci. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
