Obituary for Claude J Hodge

Claude 'Jack' Hodge GIRARD – Claude “Jack” Hodge 79, of Trumbull Avenue, passed away at Hospice House Friday evening, Jan. 15, 2010. Jack was born June 4,1930, in Pulaski, Va., the son of the late John H. and Dola Mae Cole Hodge. He retired from Wean United, United Foundries as a truck driver, after 42 years of service. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post No. 419 in Girard, Army Navy Garrison No. 422, American Legion Girard and The Moose Lodge in Mecca. Jack married Joan M. Chmelik in 1968 and Joan passed away March 11, 2003. He is survived by two sons, Tim Hodge and David Wright, both of Girard; two daughters, Debbie Wright of Girard and Linda Nitzsky of Youngstown; three sisters, Pasty Lester of Dublin, Va., Frances Turner of Boyton Beach, Fla. and Elsie Carmer of Youngstown. He also leaves four grandchildren, Laura, Melissa, Meghan and Michelle; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; and a brother, John L. Hodge.
