Obituary for Rose Marie Parilla

ROSEMARIE PARILLA “Together Again” BOARDMAN – Private family services were held Friday at Green Haven Memorial Cemetery Chapel for Rosemarie Parilla, 91, formally of Evans Avenue in Austintown and Prospect Street in Girard, who died Wednesday morning at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. Rosemarie was born March 23, 1919, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Anna Vescur Chlebus. After graduating from Ursuline High School she had worked at the Ohio Lamp Corporation in Warren and later at the Ohio Leather Works in Girard for 16 years before retiring. She was a former member of St. Rose Parish and was a member of the Girard Old Timers. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends and working in her yard. Rosemarie is survived by her son, Joseph P. Parilla Jr. and his wife, Doreen (Schuller) Parilla and her loving granddaughter, Victoria Leigh Murray. Her husband, Joseph P. Parilla Sr., whom she married July 30, 1939, died June 14, 2003. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant son, James Alan Parilla. Among others she was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Chlebus, Julia Pallay, Mary Saunders, Anna Sartoria, Elizabeth Krzysztofiak; her favorite brother-in-law, Philip Parillo; and sister-in-law, Mary Parillo. Rosemarie’s son and daughter-in-law would like to thank all of the staff who loved and cared for her at Shepherd of the Valley on West Boulevard for 14 years, because she loved them too. The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Shepherd of the Valley in Rosemarie’s memory.
