Obituary for Robert Rawlings

ROBERT L. RAWLINGS LIBERTY TOWNSHIP – Robert L. Rawlings, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Liberty Health Center. Robert was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Mason, the son of the late John and Mary Brendanburg Rawlings. He worked for General Motors Co. as a foreman for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church and the Retirement Club of General Motors. Robert was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his children, Susan Rawlings, Thomas Rawlings and Christina Reynolds, all of Cincinnati, Cheryl Wolfe of Chester, W.Va., Cynthia Doran of Canfield, Scott Rawlings of Lake Milton and Robert Rawlings of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Laverne of Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen Madison, whom he married Dec. 12, 1975 and died Oct. 8, 2002; sisters Juanita Kiford and Edna McGrew; and brothers William, Arthur and Harry Rawlings. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16, at noon at the Blackstone Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Greenhaven Cemetery with a military service.
